Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Review

Never been excited for a launch like I was when my girl launched Fenty Beauty. The energy I had in me was unbelievable! I am not the type to jump on the bandwagon. I don’t even own the Fenty puma. The fact that Rihanna came all out, did the proper market research, knew what other brands were not doing right got me.

Honestly, you guys don’t know the struggle of wanting a makeup (especially foundations and powder) from a brand you would like to own a product from and the shade are either too dark or too light. It is high time brands stop with “one shade fits all for women of colour”. Seeing Fenty Beauty come up with 40 shades including a shade for women that have albinism had me all in my feelings. It’s not that deep right? Trust me it is sad when you can find your shade, it’s like someone telling you makeup is not made for people like you!

Enough of the rambling now! I was going to post this review last week but I wanted to use it multiple times before throwing in my two cents.

Packaging

I think it was well thought through, no details were left out. It is PERFECT! The fact that the matchstix are magnetic makes it hard to lose them and it is easy to carry around.

Price

To be honest I was expecting the price point to be same as the ultra high-end brand but again my girl made it affordable for all of us. Inclusivity isn’t it?

Products

I purchased the pro filter foundation, Killawatt highlighters, trio matchstix and the lip gloss.

Profilter foundation

You will hardly find me using a full coverage foundation. I was already sold when I heard the foundation has a light to medium coverage.

Pros: The foundation is matte and feels like a second skin, It is not cakey and it blends so easily and smooth. It is also buildable if you would like more coverage. I absolutely love it.

Cons: It dries fast so you want to apply it as quick as you can. If you have a dry skin I suggest you moisturize properly before using it.

Tri matchstix

I am obsessed with them. I am not the type to use a cream concealer or highlight because I find it hard to blend. But this ones just do the job just like the powder fomula

Pros: You can conceal and highlight and still have a natural glow

Cons: If you have bags underneath your eyes  you may not like them very much.

Killawatt and lipgloss

I live for these two product. “Say no more” I like a good glow  and the killawatt does it unapologetically. The killawatt in “trophywife” is multipurpose, you can use on your eyes and lip as well. As for the lipgloss let me just say its a gloss without the “stickyness” if that makes sense. I carry it in my bag all the time.

I look forward to  Fenty Beauty coming up with more beauty products. Fenty Beauty is here to stay!
