Ras Al khaimah is one of the seven Emirates in the United Arab Emirates. It doesn’t see as much tourism as Dubai but it is an amazing place for a relaxing vacation. It offers a lot of sightseeing too but I am afraid I never did anything. I stayed at the hotel the entire time and enjoyed their recreational facilities. This is my definition of Staycation. However, I did promise myself that the next time I visit, I will do a proper tour of the Emirate.
My birthday fell on a long public holiday. So, I packed my bags and headed to Ras Al Khaimah for the holidays. RAK is my favourite place in the UAE, it has a vacation vibe to it and life is slower there. The beach is beautiful too and not as salty as the one in Dubai.
I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria, stunning as always! I had a room overlooking the sea and the arabian gulf. The three days I spent there involved me spending the day on the beach and drinking endless glasses of cocktails. I would then go for lovely dinner in the evening. I never stepped out of the hotel as I all wanted was good food, beach and entertainment. The Waldorf has it all.
Birthday Dinner
I ate at my favourite restaurant there called umi. They made me a lovely cake and card which I considered thoughtful of them. I later ended the night with couple of drinks. Just the right amount of fun I needed for my birthday. Cheers to great times!
