June is my birth month. I’m quite surprised at my growth and evolution. Unnecessary things that used to matter to me no longer do and I have really stop attaching my happiness to things and destination wishes.
Not that I made an effort at these things, it stemmed out of self love and sufficiency which I make a conscious effort at practicing. I know very well that I should never make a decision at my detriment and to protect my space and peace. My greatest regret in life will be not living to my full potential because of what someone thinks of me.
Below are the things I would tell my teenage self
Do not make excuses for toxic people in your life, people around you should be the ones who genuinely love and support you and not the ones quick to highlight things you have no control over.
You are responsible for your life. YOU ALONE! Do not let anyone’s perception influence your choices. Live your life on your own terms and to the fullest expression of your self even if it involves breaking normalcy, embrace it as long as it doesn’t harm another human existence and the environment.
Love yourself wholly before giving room to another human and it is okay to be your own best friend

You don’t have to learn how to cook because you are female but because you are a functioning adult that should feed herself. If you don’t want to learn that’s absolutely fine. Do something else that interest you
Listen to people when they speak, don’t interrupt them as you will learn a lot. Read books and read widely the number of pages should not scare you
Speak up clearly if you do not think you’re being treated fairly. Do not accept less than what you deserve, there is no award for People’s Pleaser. You are not a door mat and never pretend to be something you’re not
Stand boldly in your intelligence, beauty and personality. OWN IT! Do not dim your light because someone thinks you’re too much or intimidating
Do not limit your potential because of some imaginary rule book or fear. You have been given one life, do not waste it. Do everything you want to do, use every talent you have.

Back to the fun part, I had a blast! The lover booked me a getaway where I indulged in the finest cuisines and spent the day/weekend on the beach drinking away.
