It’s the last year of my twenties, I wanted to do something different. I was in a mood for a Caribbean holiday where I can party till day break, do some historical tour and lie by the beach all at the same time. I was determined to enjoy the best of both world.
Cancun exceeded my exceptions and everything you hear about the party life is true. Chichen Itza brought me to Cancun. I have always wanted to see this breathtaking pyramid. It is one of the seven wonders of the world.
I arrived on an afternoon, booked all my day tours immediately which included a trip to Chichen Itza, swimming in Cenote and a boat cruise to Isla Mujeres.
Trip to Chichen Itza
I’m glad I went on this tour as it was such an educating and interesting tour. Although, the weather was unbearably hot and the travelling time was longer than I’d expected. I got picked up from my hotel at 8:00 AM, we didn’t get there until 1:00 pm. It was a bit tiring. Given I hadn’t slept the night before because I was out partying, I slept on the bus so I didn’t really mind it. I later met some exciting and interesting people on the tour. The tour guide was brilliant, he didn’t hold back any detail.

Swimming in the Cenote
Never experienced something like that before, it was an awesome experience, the water was so cold and refreshing at the same time especially with the weather being humid. I loved every bit of it.
Boat cruise to Isla mujeres
This was on my last day but the most interesting day. I woke up that morning, took a shower and decided to go take my picture in front of the famous touristic Cancun sign. I flagged a taxi and there happened to be a lady in it. I apologized and told her I didn’t know the taxi was occupied, she then asked where I was headed, I told her and she happened to be going to the same place. In a nut shell, we spent the day together exploring Isla mujeres . Just like that I made a new friend. Also, she spoke Spanish which helped me navigate my day even better. We later went clubbing together that night at the famous cocobongo.
Isla mujeres is such a beautiful island. I can get over the scenic boat cruise. The water was blue, turquoise and green. Absolutely stunning! Never seen anything like it. When we went snorkeling, the water was crystal clear with variety of different and colorful fishes. The day couldn’t be better.
Clubbing
I was clubbing on daily basis, after the day time tour was over, I just go clubbing at night. Cocobongo and La vanquita were my favourite.
