Looking back on the memories and exciting moments of my five day trip to Venice, I thought I share my experience with you lovely people.
Prior to visiting, I had read a lot about the city and I couldn’t be happier when I got invited on this trip. Venezia the city of love.
On arriving at the airport, I got on the bus to the water bus station. On getting to the station there was an option of a private charter and the public one. I took the public one of course and headed to my hotel Hilton molino stucky. I looked out the window thought the entire journey. It was so fascinating to see how buildings were on top of water and the city was equally amazing.
Seeing people come out of their houses in their boats with their dogs and having a normal lifestyle still amazes me, It was quite a scenery. How can I forget to mention the Gondola. Absolutely stunning!
FOOD AND GELATO
One of the things that excites me when it comes to holiday is food. I am no foodie but I love good meal and fine dining. Every meal and Gelato was beautiful, from the street pizza to the restaurants. The wine was second to none. Perfecto!
SIGHTSEEING
Most of the sightseeing revolved around St.Mark square. The churches, museum, shopping centres and the entertainment such as Opera and Ballet. I visited a couple of churches and I cannot believe how historic they date. It is a must see if you ever visit Venice.
THE MUSEUM
I visited Museo Correr which harbours a great deal of history. We saw the imperial rooms of the Royal Palace which dates back to 1836. No renovations whatsoever, everything was still intact as it was in the beginning. We did not have a tour guide though but we managed to read up online. I also bought a book titled The history of Venice. I plan to read it on my trip to Johannesburg during the holidays.

ENTERTAINMENT
While I was in Venice, I visited the opera every evening. It is the best I have experienced in my life so far. It was phenomenal and the tickets were not not pricey. Just make sure you find where the show is happening and purchase the ticket there as opposed to paying the hotel to arrange it for you.

My overall experience was exceptional for the lack of a better word. The five days couldn’t have been spent better, I enjoyed every bit of it. Life away from high-rise buildings, hustle and bustle. Yes please!
Till we meet again, Ciao Venezia:)
