As you may have guessed, I’m back in South Africa again for the festive season. I can’t help myself, If I didn’t have to work or if I could get an employment easily, I would have relocated already. I like to say it is my favourite country but I’m yet to see the world. I shall revisit this conversation in five years.
I flew in to johanesburg with my lovely boyfriend to spend christmas. We had our itineraries planned as expected. We planned to go for some shows at Montecasino, try different cuisines, braii on the terrace and go to the Four Seasons, Westcliff for Christmas brunch.
I’ve been in the festive mood from the beginning of the month, so trust me to start living up to my itineraries from the moment I landed. I arrived just in time for lunch, headed to Tashas to have a preggo chicken (my favourite) and accompanied it with some lovely champagne.
The food
As always, the food and wine was phenomenal, out of this world. My taste bud crave it as I write. I had unlimited steak, sea food and this time I tried the Spanish restaurants too. Every meal was a hit, no disappointment whatsoever. A typical evening ended with adventures of different type of wines and champagne. When I want to be good I opt for a gin and tonic. I have my recipe for that, hopefully will share with you lots someday.
Entertainment and Shows
We booked a couple of shows at Montecasino. Most of which were season friendly. I saw a show named “the play that goes wrong” I thought it was funny. Although, my favourite was the comedy by Jim graffin. It was my first time seeing him on stage. He was amazing and engaging. I had a fantastic night. Also, the audience were so well behaved. No one needed to tell us not to use our phones. I was surprised at how well informed and mature they were. It is hard to see that these days
Four Seasons Westcliff, Sandton
Can there be a more perfect place for Christmas brunch? I doubt. The scenery, hospitality and food is unrivaled. I wined and dined at the flame restaurant. It felt so christmassy with the endless bubbles and crackers. It was so much fun. We had Christmas breakfast and lunch.
Overall Experience
I Had a great time. I am planning my next trip already.
